VP Network & Cloud KPN

As VP Network & Cloud you give shape and content to the integral vision, strategy and transformations for the themes Fixed Access, Mobile, IP FabriQ (Metro, Core and Peering Network) and Cloud (IT, Telco, Private & Public Cloud). This strategy offers an integrated perspective and, in addition to technological aspects, also includes responsibility for drawing up the business case, developing a technology roadmap and assessing the impact on the business model. You define the transformative roadmap to a Leading Sustainable Telco Infrastructure, based on PON, 5G, SR CORE & Peering, Leaf-Spine DCN, SDN and Cloud.

With your inspiring approach, you involve both senior management and the operational departments, ensuring the ultimate customer experience by changing the customer, service and technology processes with a chain-wide approach. You promote the adoption of new technologies and initiate both the development and implementation of innovative solutions that directly contribute to realizing KPN's broad business ambitions.

What you're going to do

What makes the position as VP Network & Cloud extra fun is that in addition to the responsibility to broadly establish and promote KPN's vision and strategy, you also take on the challenge of realizing this with a cross-functional team in which you have a continues to play a leading role in strategic plan, architecture, design and transformation. Your job is to bring together all themes in Network and Cloud, come up with an integral vision, roadmap and architecture, and align and align these with the themes of the other VPs.

Your tasks include

• Takes leadership in identifying emerging developments in the field of Network and Cloud; NG PON, 6G, Segment Routing, network security (anti-DDOS), NG Content Distribution, Telco Cloud, Cloud, etc.
• Defines, Initiates and guides the implementation of strategic and transformative initiatives that not only fuel innovation, but also lead to an enhanced customer experience and sustainable competitive advantage.
• Lead a team consisting of strategy leads, architects, strategists and transformation managers.
• Leads the creation, management and delivery of large (transformation) programs or portfolio of programs within the Network & Cloud field and ensures that the intended results are achieved.
• Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders at the highest level. Presents the vision and strategies to the Board of Directors and other leaders within the organization as well as to external partners and exerts influence through insights into professional technological trends and their possible effects on the KPN organization.
• Proactively develops and maintains top-level strategic alliances and partnerships to expand the organization's reach in the industry and beyond and initiate new developments.

You bring 

You are a recognized leader and thought leader with:
Extensive experience (>15 years) in the telecom/ICT sector, with a technical background at university level

• In-depth knowledge of the most current trends in the field of Network and Cloud infrastructure
• Excellent leadership qualities to lead and guide a team of highly experienced strategists, architects and leads of major transformations.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into game-changing strategic business benefits and make these concepts understandable to a non-technical audience.
• Thorough understanding of the transformation strategies in the field of telecommunications networks and Cloud transformations and their impact on the business models and customer experience.
• Excellent communication skills to inspire, lead and mobilize management and (external) teams towards a common vision.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements specifically affecting the telecommunications sector.
• Social skills for gaining support and managing changes, as well as convincingly influencing the internal and external relationship network and influencing decision-making at management level.
• Diplomatic negotiation skills for operating effectively within a complex playing field of customers, suppliers, partners and other external stakeholders.
• You are also an ambassador for KPN by sharing your knowledge and vision both internally and externally.
