VP Infrastructure

Our client is a worldwide service provider. In this role you work closely with Senior IT Management to establish, plan, and administer the overall policies and goals for Infrastructure Services; to develop IT department strategies and direction regarding infrastructure; to provide vision, develop and monitor business plans, budgets, and coordination with procurement and related financial analysis related to infrastructure and other areas as assigned; and to be responsible for the overall planning and management of the company data center and Corporate IT Infrastructure services.
 

Responsibilities

• Oversees the architecture, implementation and key support of infrastructure appropriate to the long-term strategic goals.
• Sets standards of excellence for data center, networking, and communications technology operations.
• Manages strategic planning for all customer-related and Corporate IT network, server and storage operations.
• Coordinates and plans with enterprise architecture and software development teams.
• Responsible for management liaison to technology vendors providing infrastructure services.
• Ensures that services are delivered in a manner that complies with architectural and compliance standards, established best practices, and customer service goals.
• Researches and recommends infrastructure tools and resources to satisfy operational requirements.
• Proactively recommends course of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
• Evaluates and recommends appropriate emerging technologies.
• Proactively assists in defining strategies and direction for future infrastructure projects.
• Conducts project planning, cost benefit analysis, and prioritization.
• Proactively promotes positive client/prospect relations.
• Prepares budgets and business plans.
• Provides direction for departmental financial and human resources issues.
• Provides 24/7 x 365 support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.

You

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, engineering or related discipline with an IT focus required. Advanced technical or business degree preferred.
• Ten (10) years of technology management experience with large-scale infrastructure systems experience required to include five (5) years of management experience at a department level involved in strategic and tactical planning, personnel and financial management required with one or more of the following:
• Proven ability in leading multidiscipline, high performance work teams/groups
• Proven ability to delegate appropriately and oversee delegated tasks
• Demonstrated competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
• Demonstrated competency in leadership with strong abilities in relationship management
• Thorough knowledge of the implications of relevant current laws and regulations
• Knowledge of technologies including server platforms, network, security, storage, and business applications
